On April 30, 2025, JJLA partnered with the Liberty Hill Foundation to produce the 42nd Annual Upton Sinclair Celebration at the LA Convention Center, honoring the organization’s mission to advance social justice and grassroots change across Los Angeles.
JJLA designed an event experience that blended creativity, community, and activism. The reception space featured the “Build the Good” Marketplace, a new concept spotlighting local vendors and artists. Guests explored interactive installations including a live muralist, DJ, and on-site screenprinting, all set within bold scenic builds and illuminated by dynamic lighting that brought the venue to life.
Inside the main program, guests experienced a powerful combination of spoken word, live music, and prepared remarks celebrating Liberty Hill’s ongoing work. JJLA elevated the presentation with stage design featuring vector tiles, LED bars, and custom gobo lighting, creating a visual identity that reflected the organization’s forward momentum and inclusive spirit.
Managing union labor requirements and client-selected vendors, JJLA coordinated production schedules, maintained clear communication, and secured cost-efficient solutions that kept the event on track and flawlessly executed. The result was an evening that captured the heart of Liberty Hill’s mission while showcasing JJLA’s signature blend of design precision and production excellence.
