When OUTLOUD took over The Abbey in West Hollywood for our Grammys Watch Party on February 2, 2025, it wasn’t just about watching music’s biggest night… It was about rallying the queer community for a cause. Originally planned as Overture: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artist Achievements, the event pivoted just two weeks out to raise funds for MusiCares’ fire relief efforts while still serving as an unofficial countdown to the OUTLOUD Music Festival.

We transformed The Abbey into a full-scale viewing party, streaming the Grammys across the venue’s massive LED wall and every TV in the house. During commercial breaks, the screens flipped to custom “Save the Date” graphics for OUTLOUD and QR codes for instant donations. Drag performances kept the energy high, ticket giveaways to OUTLOUD Music Festival kept the crowd buzzing, and the custom step-and-repeat plus VIP section ensured the night had plenty of star power.

The setting itself was a moment. The Abbey is the real-life muse behind Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club,” so watching her perform that song in its namesake bar had the crowd going wild for the special connection. Add in appearances from RuPaul’s Drag Race queens and Todrick Hall, and the night became a West Hollywood celebration of music, community, and queer culture.

Despite the last-minute shift in theme, we filled the space with 300 attendees, forged a meaningful fundraising partnership, and gave The Abbey one of its biggest nights of the season. The result? A pivot pulled off flawlessly, proving that with the right team and a clear mission, OUTLOUD can turn any stage (and any circumstance) into an unforgettable celebration.
