Bringing a flurry of fun to West Hollywood, JJLA took on the challenge of producing the city’s first-ever outdoor ice rink-and we did it on the briskest timeline. With only 30 days from approval to load-in (including the holiday break!), our team worked tirelessly to transform West Hollywood Park for a Winter Wonderland celebration complete with Du sets, festive décor, and a visit from Mayor John M. Erickson.

But much like a skater perfecting their spins, this production required some serious agility. Historic L.A. fires delayed the rink’s opening, unpredictable weather threatened programming, and a final-night rainstorm forced the cancellation of our Drag on Ice event. Despite all this, JJLA deftly chasséd around every obstacle by adjusting schedules, working through the holidays, and making sharp executive calls to ensure the installation delivered maximum fun during its run.

The result? Robust, revenue-generating attendance and earned media coverage from KTLA and the WeHo Times that had greater Los Angeles buzzing with excitement over the inaugural ice rink. From first-time skaters to seasoned pros, the WeHo Winter Ice Rink created magical moments for everyone who stepped onto the ice, proving that a little frost can go a long way in bringing a community together. The perseverant success of this event ensured that JJLA and the City of West Hollywood are ready to glide into the next chapter of our partnership, making the ice rink a must-visit seasonal tradition. We’re just getting warmed up!
